FEATURED ARTISTS:

Laurent Martres

“I am glad you are using my ‘Portal’ image…I was lucky to happen upon this scene, but I worked rather hard for it: six days of hiking up and down the steep pathways of Santorini loaded like a mule. I returned last Friday from a trip to Chefchaouen, Marrakech, Barcelona, the South of France and Paris.” -Laurent Martres

Laurent is truly a citizen of the world and an internationally acclaimed photographer known for his dramatic landscapes. Born in Paris, he attended school in Paris, London, Barcelona and many cities in Germany. After completing college degrees in languages and business, Laurent spent 20 months traveling and photographing the world.  He lived and worked in Tokyo from 1976-81, which, he says, had a profound effect on his life, philosophy and his photography. After establishing permanent residence in the U.S. in 1982, Laurent photographed the Southwest extensively to create award-winning work. He also oversees the publishing of award winning books and shows at select prestigious art festivals around the country. Any of his images are available in various sizes on paper, canvas or metal, with or without frames.

Dorothee Naumburg

“The aim is to create a sculptural and understated feel for my jewelry, while reducing the lines of my design to the essentials… editing out unneeded elements and distractions in the process to create contemporary but wearable pieces. I am happy to discuss the creation of your own special piece of jewelry to celebrate life’s many big or small occasions.” –Dorothee Naumburg

Dorothee discovered an intense desire to become a goldsmith in her teenage years. She embarked on a three-year goldsmith apprenticeship under a Master jeweler near Frankfurt, Germany in 1983 where she learned traditional goldsmith techniques of fabrication. Her studies brought her to the United States where she added stone-setting, wax carving, casting and welding to her already extensive repertoire  of skills. Dorothee started her own business in 1999 and she creates and sells her designs at juried art festivals throughout the country. Her pieces are 14k and 18k gold and platinum. They are finished with a variety of surface textures like ‘crinkled gold’ which mimics gold leaf and accented with pearls, drusy and gemstones.

Enjoy Old Town’s charming cafes including Solano’s, The Grill on Main, La Rue Café, Stuft Pizza, The Wine Emporium, and La Quinta Brewery as well as our fashionable boutiques. Come for the art, stay for the day!   Live entertainment, Free Admission & Free Parking.
