Old Town La Quinta Announces Addition of New Restaurant

(La Quinta, CA) - Old Town La Quinta announced today that Solano's Bistro will fill the last available restaurant space in this quaint shopping and dining venue.

"We are so pleased Solano's Bistro will be opening in Old Town," said Leslie Locken, property manager of Old Town La Quinta. "The restaurant has built quite a following, and we feel it will really complement the other fabulous restaurants and unique shops in Old Town."

Solano's Bistro opened in February 2009 just a few blocks away from Old Town, and has successfully grown to the point where a larger and more visible location was needed. The restaurant will move to a prime location at the southeast end of Main Street in Old Town.

The owners, Chef Francisco "Paco" Solano and Alex Lee Wipf, look forward to bringing Paco's masterful creations to the new location in Old Town, including Chef's famous red wine braised beef short ribs as well as nightly special seafood dishes. Paco and Alex formed a friendship while working together at The Club at PGA West, where Paco served as executive chef, and Alex was a golf professional. They decided to team up together and open a restaurant offering dishes with the highest quality of fresh and organic ingredients and unmatched service that makes customers feel 'at home.'

"We are so pleased to be able to provide Chef with the kitchen he deserves. Not only will his space and equipment for cooking expand, so will the menu," said Alex Lee Wipf, co-owner. "We are looking forward to offering exciting new dishes and broadening our menu with affordable options as well as small plates and tapas in the bar. Many customers have missed our lunch, which just wasn't sustainable at our old location."

Plans are currently underway to open the new Solano's Bistro in February 2012, which will be open for lunch and dinner seven days a week through the season. The restaurant rounds out a diverse range of restaurants and eateries in Old Town, including The Grill on Main, Hog's Breath Inn, The Wine Bar at Old Town, Old Town Coffee Company & Stuft Pizza Bar & Grill.

"Moving the restaurant to Old Town is a dream come true for both of us as we have always loved the quaintness and charm is provides, as well as events like the Farmers Markets and Art Under the Umbrellas," added Wipf. "It is also important for us to stay close by for our extremely loyal local patrons."
