Old Town La Quinta Celebrates National Mom and Pop Business Owners Day Monday, March 29th

(La Quinta, CA) - This coming Monday, March 29, is National Mom and Pop Business Owners Day, a special day set aside to celebrate small business owners. Old Town La Quinta, a local shopping and dining destination made up solely of "mom and pop" businesses, is inviting local residents to support its many one-of-a-kind merchants in honor of National Mom and Pop Business Owners Day.

For those who spend $100 or more at Old Town La Quinta restaurants and retailers on Monday, March 29, they will receive a $15 gift certificate to use towards a future purchase in Old Town La Quinta. They simply bring their receipt to the Old Town La Quinta Property Management office to receive their $15 gift certificate upon verification of that purchase being made that day, Monday, March 29th, 2010 only.

"What makes Old Town La Quinta charming is our 'mom and pop' merchants," said Leslie Locken, property manager of Old Town La Quinta. "These small businesses have no limits on their buying opportunities, and are able to carve out a niche for their stores and restaurants by featuring unique items not found everywhere. The best-loved gifts and items are typically found at 'mom and pop' boutiques."

National Mom and Pop Business Owners Day was started by the owners of a hat shop called "Ruth's" in Everett, MA. Small businesses account for 70% of U.S. commerce, according to FastCompany.com.
